Abstract
Migraine is a type of headache characterized by recurrent bouts of severe headache, which makes it difficult for a person to function. Sometimes migraines can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. At the moment, the treatment of migraine is an urgent health problem, since this disease occurs in many patients — it significantly reduces the quality of life, as well as leads to social maladaptation. The aim of treatment is to improve the quality of life of patients, alleviate the course of the disease and prevent its chronization, since migraine is hereditary and completely incurable. Antidepressants, one of the representatives of this group of drugs (amitriptyline), are currently used to prevent migraines I will review it in this article.
