Abstract

The publication examines the state of peculiarities of the pedagogical process of future designers for the use of artistic and graphic activity in scientific and methodical literature and pedagogical practice. In the context of this publication, the concepts of «artistic and graphic activity», «visual communication» and «designer» are outlined. During a broad review of artistic and graphic activity, it was established that it can be considered as a unique form of human activity. This form of activity is characterized by several characteristic features: artistic and aesthetic inclinations prevailing in the individual; the desire to do graphics; the presence of the concept; ideas or goals; socio-cultural or personal significance of the activity; favorable conditions for its achievement; personal prerequisites, such as specific abilities and psychological qualities, as well as the desire for novelty and originality both in the process and in the result. The publication emphasizes the following key aspects: artistic and graphic activity is a social activity intertwined with the spiritual and practical study of one's environment, contributing to the realization of meaningful activity with a humanistic orientation through emotional and figurative expression that contributes to the aesthetic understanding of the world. This activity contributes to the realization of the individual's cultural function, which is philosophically characterized as the ability to contribute to cultural creativity. In addition, artistic and graphic activity appears as a socio-psychological phenomenon that forms the emotional and aesthetic activity of an individual, determined by multifaceted cognitive and communicative motivations of both internal and external direction. The work substantiates that in order to effectively improve the pedagogical process of future designers in the process of studying artistic and graphic disciplines, it is necessary to study more widely traditional artistic disciplines (drawing, painting, composition), to saturate educational activities with modern methods of creating design products, to consider computer technologies more broadly as today's main means of creating an attractive and competitive product, practice interactive methods of mastering educational material, create the necessary database and software-methodical support for the process of forming professional competence, taking into account the specifics of the activities of future designers
