Abstract
Literature is a social phenomenon picturing social life in many ways. In this regard, Novels which are the most prominent literary genre, provide important social data as they pictured perceptions regarding the social life at the time when they were written. Utopian writing, growing as a subgenre in the western literature and novels, is an idealogical suggestion which has developed as a reaction and alternative against existing social structure. Utopias most used to aim at carrying opposing idealogical theories to social practice in order to form a way to the ideal society. But, The disappointment in the 20th century caused by idealogical methods which came to the office, has put an end to utopian writing and has led to dystopias like ''1984'' harshly criticizing socialist society and ''Fahrenheit1451'' harshly criticizing capitalist society.
