The effectiveness of the implementation of the structural and functional model of the formation of risk competence of future officers has been experimentally tested. Purpose. The article aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the structural and functional model of risk competence formation of the future officer of the National Guard of Ukraine in the practice of professional training. Methods. Psychological and educational literature analysis, analogy, modelling and mathematical information processing Results. The analysis has shown that the formation of risk competence of future officers of the National Guard of Ukraine will be facilitated by the introduction of a structural and functional model of risk competence formation in the process of their professional training, which is the basis for carrying out service and combat activities in dangerous situations and includes the following stages: preparatory, practical and technological, and analytical and reflective. This model contains methodological approaches, principles and regulatory frameworks for the professional activity of an officer, structural components, functions and stages of risk competence formation, methods, forms and means of forming this competence. The resultant block is presented by means of criteria (personal, activity-functional and evaluative) with corresponding indicators and levels: high, sufficient and initial. Originality. The article presents for the first time the results of an experimental verification of the implementation of the structural and functional model of risk competence formation of future officers of the National Guard of Ukraine in the process of professional education. The influence of pedagogical methods, forms and means on changes in the levels and indicators of the studied competence is revealed in detail. Conclusion. The study of training a future officer of the National Guard of Ukraine to carry out professional activities in risky situations and the development of his/her risk competence requires substantiation of the theoretical and methodological process of designing a structural and functional model of formation of risk competence of a future officer in the process of professional training. The article reveals that the modelling of the process of risk competence formation takes into account the professional and personal needs of future officers, the level of professional knowledge, skills and abilities, and the peculiarities of the process of evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the designed model. It has been determined that the professional training of a future officer of the National Guard of Ukraine for professional activities in risky situations requires substantiation of his/her risk competence. The modern methods, forms and means of forming the risk competence of future officers of the National Guard of Ukraine in the process of professional training are analysed. Further research requires the development of information and digital complexes and simulators for the formation of risk competence of future officers.
