TERMINOLOGY OF LEADERSHIP COMPETENCE IN THE STUDIES OF UKRAINIAN AND FOREIGN SCIENTISTS

Abstract
Introduction. The article deals with the peculiarities of the terminology of leadership competence in the studies of Ukrainian and foreign scholars. At the present stage, the problem of leadership is very popular both in foreign countries and in Ukraine, and it is actively researched, discussed and analyzed. Given the considerable scientific development of this issue, studies by foreign and Ukrainian scholars use a variety of terms to describe key concepts, which are often interpreted differently and have different shades of meaning. That is why the consideration of the terminology of leadership competence in the studies of Ukrainian and foreign scholars is one of the priority tasks. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to analyze the terminology of leadership competence in the works of Ukrainian and foreign scholars. Methods. The article employs methods such as analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, as well as synthesis, systematisation, and generalisation of information. Results. It is found that the problem of leadership and leadership competence is very popular both in foreign countries and in Ukraine. It has been shown that modern scholars interpret the above concepts differently and often these definitions lack consistency, clarity and terminological unambiguity.Originality. In the current context, leadership is a crucial factor that determines a young person's success, professional effectiveness, and personal development. It is important to maintain an objective perspective on this issue and avoid subjective evaluations. Modern society requires leaders with strong organizational skills, a desire for social activity, and the ability to unite people to achieve their goals.They must be willing to work continuously and diligently to create favorable conditions for further development. Additionally, the dynamic development of civilization creates new conditions, paradigms, and concepts, as well as new leadership theories that require constant consideration, analysis, and generalization. The 21st century has brought about new principles, values, and approaches, which require a detailed examination of leadership competence terminology. This study will focus on concepts such as 'leadership', 'leader', 'leadership competence', and 'competence' as interpreted by Ukrainian and foreign scholars. Conclusion. As a result of the study of the terminology of leadership competence in the research of Ukrainian and foreign scholars, we come to the conclusion that modern researchers express different views and interpret the basic concepts of leadership issues in different ways, but their views have both many similarities and differences. This suggests that today we need to actively address the problems of leadership competence terminology and strive for clarity, consistency and terminological unambiguity in the interpretation of basic concepts. The prospect of further research is to examine in more detail the terminology of leadership and leadership qualities in the works of Ukrainian and foreign scholars.
