Abstract

Introduction. This article explores the innovative frontier of distance education in the realm of drawing and painting, specifically tailored to students pursuing specialization in Design (Specialty 022). Departing from traditional classroom settings, distance education in art endeavors to bridge geographical divides and democratize access to artistic instruction.Purpose. The transition to a distance form of teaching drawing and painting to students specializing in Design (Specialty 022) presents a multifaceted set of challenges and opportunities. At the heart of this endeavor lies the need to reconcile traditional pedagogical practices with the evolving landscape of digital education while ensuring the preservation of artistic integrity and fostering meaningful learning experiences. The absence of face-to- face interaction poses a significant challenge in distance art education, as the tactile nature of drawing and painting necessitates hands-on guidance and immediate feedback from instructors. Access to necessary art supplies and technology, as well as proficiency in using digital tools, may vary among students, leading to disparities in learning experiences and outcomes. Sustaining student engagement and motivation in a remote learning environment requires innovative approaches to curriculum design and instructional delivery to foster creativity and exploration. Methods. Research methods consist in comparative analysis and identification of features of design education in Ukraine, creation of pedagogical teaching conditions for the formation of graphic design specialists of a high professional level. Results. Distance art education fosters a culture of creative exploration and self-expression, empowering students to pursue their artistic aspirations. Recognition of instructors' adaptability and innovation in transitioning to distance teaching methods, including the development of interactive online assignments, virtual studio visits, and guest lectures by industry professionals. Instructors demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality instruction and support in the digital realm. While challenges exist, the findings highlight the transformative power of digital technologies in expanding access to art education and fostering creativity in the digital age.Originality. Introducing novel instructional methods and techniques tailored specifically to distance education in drawing and painting. This could include the development of interactive online assignments, virtual studio visits, or collaborative projects that leverage digital tools and platforms. Exploring cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), or artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the learning experience in distance art education. This could involve the development of immersive drawing experiences, digital painting simulations, or interactive tutorials. Exploring interdisciplinary connections between drawing, painting, and other fields such as technology, psychology, or cultural studies. This could involve incorporating elements of design thinking, cognitive science, or visual culture theory into the curriculum to enrich students' understanding of the artistic process. Conclusion. In conclusion, the distance form of teaching drawing and painting to students of specialty 022 Design has proven to be an effective and innovative way to impart knowledge and skills in the field of art and design.
