Abstract

Introduction. The article delves into the exploration of innovative approaches to cultivating cultural competence among young schoolchildren within the realm of music education. It sets out to address the significance of nurturing cultural awareness and understanding through music instruction at an early stage of education. Purpose. The primary aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of various innovative methodologies in fostering cultural competence among young students during music lessons. It seeks to identify the most impactful approaches that contribute to the development of cultural sensitivity and appreciation through musical education. Methods. The study adopts a comprehensive review of literature and theoretical analysis to explore the theoretical foundations of cultural competence development in the context of music education. Drawing on existing research, this study synthesizes theoretical frameworks and pedagogical principles to propose innovative methods for enhancing cultural competence among young learners. Results. The findings reveal that interactive learning techniques, integration of technology, and interdisciplinary approaches significantly enhance students' cultural competence in the context of music education. Students demonstrate increased awareness of diverse cultural expressions and a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity through active engagement with music. Originality. This research contributes to the field by highlighting the novel strategies and pedagogical innovations that effectively promote cultural competence among young learners in music education. It emphasizes the importance of incorporating cultural elements into music curriculum to foster inclusive learning environments and promote intercultural understanding. Conclusion. In conclusion, the study underscores the critical role of innovative teaching methods in shaping students' cultural awareness and competence in music education.
