Prof. Dr. Hasan Ünal Nalbantoğlu’nun Ardından - After Prof. Dr. Hasan Ünal Nalbantoğlu

“Learning; with a love and transcendence towards an object, being in an infinite wonder and curiosity.” The owner of the definition of knowledge written above, Middle East Technical University Department of Sociology’s well beloved instructor, Prof. Dr. Hasan Ünal Nalbantoğlu, has passed away in 19th of February 2011. In that article Prof. Nalbantoğlu's works from evolution of the understanding of science and academics in universities to music and jazz are mentioned. Having been exiled from Turkey in 1980's within the campaign of "purifying the universities", Nalbantoğlu had continued to work in education service in his country when he was back. We remember him with respect again and hope that his elaborate works cross the ways of curious minds.
