There has been a significant split in Turkis westernization which gained a new meaning and tendency in the period of Republic after the World War II in addition to some tendencies which were taken over from the Ottoman period. Although the main path did not change, this new tendency which has led to new westernization practises, is based on the new policy that the State has adopted. In connection with this change in policy, the Turkish thought has also gained some features and tendencies. Turkey has had a new position in accordance with the concept of cold war in the new world with two poles and ıts thought agenda has been affected directly from Turkey’s new political choice: Topics, approaches and leading figures have changed. Even the ideolojical figures who put a mark on the one party regime have needed to adapt themselves to new conditions. One of the primary topics of the new period in Turkish thought has been the danger of communizmand anti-communizm. Anti-communist propaganda in accordance with the communist phobia which escalated in capitalist countries in the Cold War years has also increased in Turkey in parallel its counter part in the USA and has had a direction depending on the violence of Cold War. In this article the ideoljical dimensions of the anti-communist current will be subjected to evaluation from the respect of Peyami Safa.
