Abstract
Globalization and post-modern times require the individual’s identity to be constructed within the framework of “plural identity”. In fact, in being different social roles’ collage, identity transforms into more “plural identities” and “fragmented lives”. The motto “anything goes” which is in the postmodernity itself creates a fragmented identity. . The principle “you are in up to how much you consume” which strats with the soul of modern times goes on with the existence of the identity of an individual with consumption in post-modern times as well. “Consumption society” which increases its dominance more and more has created a typical of an individual who is “puritan in the day time, playboy at night” according to Daniel Bell. Aflexible individual carrying an eclectic culture who lives both the traditional and modern culture constitutes the today’s type of personality. In this context, post-modern culture produces both being religious and hedonist life style. In this paper, post-modern hybrid identity patterns are analysed.
