Abstract

Introduction. Among the main goals of Sustainable Development is ensuring access to quality water, which is of great importance for society, nature and all economic activities. Today, it is necessary to state the deficit of water resources. That is why restoration of water resources to their natural state, preservation, and purification of freshwater resources is important. In this context, assessing the level of regional management of freshwater resources using modern instrumentation is the driving force behind the introduction of innovative processes for cleaning, preserving and restoring the country's freshwater resources. That is why, in the context of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, there is a need to study the level of financial support for innovative processes in environmental protection activities of regional management of freshwater resources, which allows the implementation of the set tasks. It is important to adapt the world experience of managing fresh water resources for the regions of Ukraine in the context of the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive. The identified problems require in-depth research. Purpose. The purpose of the study is to determine the economic-ecological toolkit for assessing the level of regional management of freshwater resources in conditions of sustainable development, which allows not only to determine the current state of use, but also to additionally provide opportunities for determining financial incentives for business entities that implement resource-saving technologies. The economic-ecological toolkit includes indicators characterizing costs at different stages and components of integrated management of freshwater resources. Materials and methods. The research materials are: 1) regulatory and legal support for the rational use and management of freshwater resources; 2) stock materials of state management bodies on issues of integrated management of territorial water resources; 3) works of domestic and foreign authors who conduct their scientific and practical research on the subject of conceptual provisions and strategic priorities of the rational use and restoration of freshwater resources.
