Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the phonetic and phonological structure of the Russian language, with a special emphasis on the dialect features of pronunciation and functioning of sounds. The main differences in pronunciation and functioning of sounds in various dialects of the Russian language, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, South Russian and Siberian, are considered. The changes occurring in the sound system, their historical development and the influence of socio-cultural factors on the phonetic features of speech are analyzed. The article also provides examples of phonetic and phonological processes such as assimilation, reduction, stress change and dialect pronunciation variants. Special attention is paid to the phonological patterns characteristic of different regions of world, as well as the influence of these differences on the standards of the literary language.
