Design and implementation of a communication, archiving and visualization system for medical images for the integration of the Cercado health network

This project deals with the design and implementation of a communication, archiving and visualization system of medical images for the Cercado Health Network, which is made up of 33 Health Establishments. The main objective is to integrate the clinical information generated, improving the workflow, efficiency and quality, through the adoption of digital technologies in the management of medical images. The developed system integrates a PACS which allows the storage and centralized access of medical images, a DICOM web viewer that facilitates the visualization of medical images, from any device with an Internet connection; and an automated reporting system which streamlines the medical report generation process. The implementation of this system has proven to be an effective solution, showing various benefits. There has been an improvement in communication and collaboration between health facilities.
