Survey of mites associated with vegetable crops at different locations of Jaunpur

Abstract
A survey was carried out during 2011-2012 at fifteen location of Jaunpur district to determine the composition of phytophagous and predatory mites on vegetable crops. Maximum twelve (12) species of phytophagus and predatory mites were recorded in sponge gourd at all survey sites, followed by ten (10) species in brinjal and pumpkin, eight (8) species in okra and ridge gourd, six (6) in cucumber, five (5) in bitter gourd, four (4) in cow pea and pointed gourd. Minimum three (3) species were recorded in tomato crop.
