PRE-REVOLUTIONARY HISTORIOGRAPHY OF PODILLIA IN THE MID-NINETEENTH CENTURY: KEY FIGURES AND RESEARCH AREAS

The article is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the pre-revolutionary historiography of Podillia in the mid-19th century, viewing it as a crucial stage in the formation of knowledge about the region's history, ethnography, archaeology, statistics, and culture. The aim of the work is the systematization and critical assessment of the research heritage of key fi gures who studied the Podillian Governorate during the specifi ed period, as well as the identifi cation of the main directions of their scholarly research.
