Abstract

The Information Manufacturing System (IMS) is the information system that manufactures information from raw data. Multi channel or multi source information system, cooperative information system and web information system work as the information manufacturing system of an organization. Data come from multiple sources are to execute refreshment and query function for making data available and information support respectively in the IMS. Refreshment function includes data loading, indexing and propagation of data tasks. These refreshment and query functions execute either simultaneously or sequentially in the IMS of real world organizations. Further, refreshment function may execute continuously or noncontinuously in the IMS of these organizations. For these reasons, there could have a trade-off between the objective (completeness and accuracy) and timeliness data quality dimensions. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to conduct an assessment to the simulated IMS of these real world organizations for focusing the change of data quality with timeliness to the IMS of these real world organizations.
