Artistic features of the Menorah candlesticks created in Halychyna in the XVIII - the first third of the XX centuries

Abstract
The article analyzes the artistic features of the candlesticks and the lamps that resemble candlesticks, the prototype of which is the Temple Menorah, created in Halychyna in the XVIII - the first third of the XX centuries. The basic sources of the formation of such attractions as written and oral commandments in the Torah and Talmud, numerous comments of the leading thinkers of Judaism are highlighted. Particular focus is made on the prohibition of literal reproduction of the Seven Branch Temple Menorah, which caused transformation and the emergence of a Hanukkah Menorah with nine branches. The attractions that most clearly illustrate the features of a composition and decoration of the candlesticks are also analyzed. Among the main motiffs of the decoration plant ornaments, the combination of the sprouts, flowers, buds, leaves in accordance with the image of the temple Menorah prevail. Especially popular are the images that have an important symbolic meaning: the figure of an eagle, bear, rabbit, lion.
