Abstract
The article considers the environmental problems of the coal industry and the ways of their solutions. The authors presented an objective analysis of the current state of the coal industry on the basis of environmental indicators derived from coal enterprises. There was developed and put into a practice the assessment of the environmental risk level by monitoring the changes dynamics in relevant indicators and their priority by analytic hierarchy process (AHP, T. Saaty, 1980).
