Abstract
The research problem of this article is inequality in paternity rights in Ukraine and Poland. The whole problem lays around the presence of a wide-spread stereotype that a mother is much more attached to the child and vice versa, which was being formed for many centuries in the historical context. Because of that men might suffer from difficulties of being perceived as equal and equally influential on a child's life as its mother is. The evidence were reached by appealing to analysing of the status of single father on governmental level, the Holiday dedicated to a Father and how NGOs dedicated to protection of the fathers rights work. The comparison between countries is needed to stress how different the issue could be even with the similar cultural and historical context shared
