Abstract
A series of new 4-aryl-8-arylidene-2-imino-5,6-dihydro-4H,7H-(3,1) benzothiazines , with an aim to obtain potent Anti-tubercular agents. There were synthesized of Cyclohexanone of Claisen - Schmidt Condensation and Aldol Condensation with various aromatic and heterocyclic Aldehydes in presence of dilute sodium hydroxide gives the corresponding 2,6- diarylidine Cyclohexanones step(1). Further these compounds of step 1 were subjected to cyclocondensation with thiourea catalysed by aqueous Pottasium hydroxide to form 4-aryl- 8arylidene-2-imino-5,6-dihydro 4Hydrogen,7Hydrogen-(3,1) benzothiazines. The structure of synthesized compounds, were characterized by their spectral studies and the anti-tuburcular activity of these compounds is studied on Mycobacterium tuberculosis(H37 RV strain) Key words: Benzothiazines, mycobacterium tuberculosis strain. Hetero cyclic aldehydes and aromatic aldehydes.
