Abstract
The article describes experimental research aimed at studying the peculiari- ties of word-building skills in children of preschool age with General underdevelopment of speech III level. Given the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the obtained results, which showed that preschool children with General speech underdevelopment have a signifi cant diffi culty performing derivational operations. Illustrated by examples of children’s responses and systematic basic errors made by children in the course of performing diagnostic tasks. The necessity of purposeful correctional work on development of the skill of word formation in children with illustrated the a common speech disorder and the use of this method for visual modeling
