Abstract
The relation of grain yields with physiological and yield contributing characters which were studied by mean of correlation coefficient. For this, field and experiment was conducted in RBD during two consecutive rabi season (2009-2010) and (2010-2011) at experimental field of department of genetics and plant breeding, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Allahabad. ESW-13 was found to have more total chlorophyll content, Leaf nitrogen content, Nitrate Reductase Activity, grain yield/plot, grains/spike and spike length among 24 wheat varieties studied. All the above said characters were found to have significant and positive correlation grain yield/plot. ESW-13 was found to be the best in possessing the characters and producing the highest grain yield per plot.
