Abstract

In this study, it will be evaluated that at what level the development policies eliminate the basic social problems such as underdevelopment, poverty, unemployment, regional imbalances, and whether the implemented development policies provide an improvement in socio-economic perspective or not. The role of development policies in eliminating the poverty, underdevelopment and unfair distribution of income will be discussed. The main approaches that put forward to solve the sated social issues will form the main subject of our study. The method follow up in this study is mainly based on the literature review. The necessity of a critical approach in investigation of causes for the differences between regions and countries in terms of human development, and the implemented development policies to solve socio-economic problems indicates the severity of the subject. In the literature, it is criticized that the development policies do not reduce the existing inequalities in the society; in contrary they maintain the inequalities. Moreover, the usefulness and the efficiency of implement development policies is the issue of discussion. As a result of this study, it has been identified that the implemented development policies could not provide a desired success in terms of socio-economic development.
