Abstract
Imam Ghazali had created works on Islamic jurisprudence, euphemism, philosophy, logic and sufism and he had generated hermeneutical interpretations in his works and thus, he had given us the indispensable extents of truth and metaphor as mentioned in ecclesiastic sciences. Imam Ghazali desired to reach close knowledge with these extents and he advocated that respect for the words of Koran and Prophet Mohammad would solidify if acted veraciously. He further alludes that for as much as truth and metaphor are not used along with the accurate extent, this may lead to attributing to one words not uttered for Allah and Prophet Mohammad and to execute illicit deeds and become infidel. The aim of this study is to comprehend how religious texts should be viewed with the extents on truth and metaphor of İmam Ghazali.
