Abstract

The region of the saphenofemoral junction according to topographic and anatomical data, has the following characteristics: inguinal ligament and muscles ? m.sartorius (outside) and m.adductorlongus (from the inside) ? form the femoral triangle whose apex is at the intersection of these muscles, separated from the inguinal ligament on average 15 cm. downwards. The femoral triangle is made by fatty tissue. Under the superficial leaf of the fascia lata within the femoral triangle are surrounded by large vagina femoral vessels. Topographically, the artery passes lateral to the vena. They lie in the recess, which is formed by muscles of the femoral triangle ? iliopsoas and pectineus, covered with deep leaf of the fascia lata. The great saphenous vein of the leg is in the body fat of the medial surface of the thigh. In the femoral triangle g.s.v. penetrates the fascia lata of the thigh through the hiatus saphenus empties into the femoral vein, forming saphenofemoral junction. The tributaries of the great saphenous vein on the thigh ? v.epigastrica superficialis, vv. pudendae externae and v.circumflexa ilium superficialis. In addition, there may be less permanent tributaries: v.saphena accessoria medialis and v. saphena accessoria lateralis. Location ofthe saphenofemoral junction is considered to be constant, at the same time encountered cases of atypical location can cause significant difficulties during surgical interventions.
