A Study Of Chemical Constitution Of Lignin Of Leucaena Leuccephala

The study was carried out on Laucaena leucocephala of different age groups to learn more about its chemical composition by isolating lignin via solvent isolation technique. The effect of plant�s age on its chemical constitute were also investigated. As a cheap and fast-grown resource with superior physical and mechanical properties compared to most wood species, Laucaena leucocephala offers great potential as an alternative to softwood that is usually used in pulp and paper industry.
