Abstract
Globalization and post modern theories have came to the fore in Sociology in the 1990s. During the same years, in Turkey, political Islam has reached the power so much that it demand power. In this paper, globalization, postmodernism and political Islam discourses, on the agenda in Turkey between the dates 1989 when the socialist system started to collapse and 2001 of the Twin Towers incident, are analysed critically, the internal and external conditions which led to the rise of political Islam and postmodern theories are discussed.
