Abstract

For all we know, because Mawdudi is an important Quranic commentator, although some studies were made about him, his approaches to the tafsir problems haven't been studied. For this reason, this research has examined his findings about accepted mutashâbih verses and these are being evaluated in this research from time to time. According to Mawdudi, the allegorical verses have described unseen world with sample situations that the people know. The real nature of the issues that are described in these verses is unknown; however, when these verses are understood with very simple meaning, it evokes to people a few facts. Therefore, these statements should be understood as a metaphor; however, to deviate from the truth, mutashâbih verses must be evaluated in the light of muhkam verses. Mawdudi have not entered into discussions with the effects of the sects in describing the mutashabih verses and has discussed in the context of the historical and textual. Many verses adopted Mutashabih by some for his have not been addressed in this category
