HEMSBALL GAME AND ITS INFLUENCE ON HANDICAPPED CHILDREN’S PSYCHOPSYSICAL CONDITION AND THE FAMILYS’ OPINION

The research of the article is about new attractive game ? HEMSBALL as innovation of Turkish Sports for All Federation. Further on the article present the nature, history, rules and influence of the game on physical condition of students with disabilities. It was applied experimentally in a Special School in addition physic education lesson ?Active games” module. With this study it’s assumed that as applying Hemsball game in the added hour of “Active Game” module in Physical Education Program of modest mentally retarded and multiple disabled children; physical and psychomotor development would occur. Two experimental groups formed. First includes 15 mental retarded consist of 7 men and 8 women and the second group with multiple disabilities 8 men and 7 women. In both experimental group Hemsball game was applied in the added hour of “active game” module for 8 months. A test battery created which gives information for the physical development and neurophysical characteristics of researched persons before and after experiment. All participants are used test battery that contains six indexes; height, body mass, chest size, arterial pressure, heart rate and flexibility. At the end of the experiment a survey used to analyse the all families’ view about the Hemsball game. Height, body mass and flexibility performance were increased after experiment. Arterial pressure reduced much of the participants and got close to normative values. Chest size did not change in both groups. Hearth rate reduced for a few participants after experience. When we analyse the view of families, they give positive reactions about the game. At the end it is determined a positive influence of Hemsball game on psycho-physical development of the students. So as a conclusion, Hemsball game should be added the education programs of disabled and retarded students.
