ASSESSMENT OF EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUALS USING FITNESS CENTER IN GYMNASIUM

Abstract
This research was carried out in order to determine the opinions of individuals using fitness centers in Sports Sciences and Technology Research and Application Center of Pamukkale University about utility and availability of fitness centers. A universal scanning method was used in this research and a questionnaire form was applied to 174 individuals. The questionnaire form constituted of 38 questions aimed to determine personal information and expectations. The questionnaire developed by Aylin Duran (2013) was used for collecting the data. The data were analyzed with SPSS 15.0 statistical software program and Mann-Whitney-U test. As a result of this research, it was concluded that the individuals satisfied the expectations of fitness centers (f=86.3), they relied on information levels of trainers (f=54.2), they like doing sports (f=96.8) and they felt relax while doing sports (f=91.0). Moreover, it was also concluded in the research that directors of gymnasiums and trainers of fitness centers were effective on increasing the utility of fitness centers and directing individuals towards sports and sports activities. The scale formed will provide correct and practical information that will be used by directors of gymnasium.
