COMORBID DISEASES IN ALCOHOL-DEPENDENT PATIENTS

Abstract
The authors consider the issue of alcohol addiction, combined with a comorbid psychic disorder. The peculiarities of the clinical presentation of alcoholism with comorbid schizophrenic disorders and depressive disturbances within an endogenous process are described. The findings on the interconnection between alcoholism and psychogenic disorders (neuroses, neurotic development of personality, and reactive depressions of neurotic range) are summarized. The peculiarities of the clinic and course of alcoholism combined with some other psychopathology are described. The data of epidemiologic research are presented. The issues of the treatment of comorbid pathology are discussed.
