POST-OPERATIVE MORPHOLOGIC DIAGNOSTICS OF BORDERS OF ANTERIOR RESECTION OF RECTUM

Randomized, prospective, controlled investigation was done. 138 patients with rectal cancer were assigned into 2 groups by random sample. The main group was formed by 68 patients, which were operated by laparoscopic access. The others (70 patients) were operated by open approach formed comparative group. To valuate the radicalism of operation, except standard morphologic investigations, we used method of determination of lateral limit of resection (for T-criteria), and method of histochemical clearing for lymphnodes identification and later mapping (for N-criteria). Finally we came to conclusion that the lateral limit of resection reliably effects on long-term results and must be taken into account in choice of combined treatment.
