Abstract
Energy drink consumption is increasing among young people due to aggressive marketing techniques. There is widespread conviction in medical literature that energy drinks facilitate alcohol and drug addiction. Evaluation of drug usage, and sign and symptoms of it, will be incomplete unless the children and adolescents admitted to emergency service are questioned for the consumption of energy drinks. Because the enhancing effect of caffeine and other stimulating components of energy drinks on many drugs’ metabolism is well known. Whence there is a need to evaluate the literature data on energy drink consumption among children and adolescents.
