Abstract
Thyroid diseases are the most frequent pathologies of the endocrine system in women. Any disorders of thyroid function can cause disturbances in the reproductive system of women, but also bear the risk of development of pathological changes in the fetus. This lecture includes principles of diagnostics, treatment and preparation of women with iodine deficiency, autoimmune thyroiditis, Graves' disease and hypothyroidism to pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum period with the purpose of favorable outcome for both the fetus and newborn, and maintenance of mother's health.
