Abstract
With today’s rapidly improving link - layer technology, and the widespread adoption of wireless networking, the creation of large - scale ad hoc networks could be construed as all but inevitable . Current ad hoc protocol suites do not scale to work efficiently in networks of more than a few hundred nodes. We believe the main reason behind the lack of scalability is that current protocols use flat an d static addressing. In this pap e r, we provide an initial design of a routing layer based on dynamic addressing by providing a separation between address and identity .
