Abstract
The article deals with the causes of intrusion and assimilation of lexical borrowings from American English into lexico-semantic system of Russian. At the present stage, these processes are characterized by exceptional immensity and intensity. It is noted that the usage of Anglicisms develops into a norm of oral and written communication. The sources of intrusion and the degrees of assimilation are specified.
