Abstract
The genres of regional youth press are considered as a style-forming feature of newspaper publicistic texts. The genre and linguistic peculiarities of youth newspapers of the Sakha Republic are defined: the most frequent genre is paragraph whose linguistic features include accuracy, consistency, use of journalese, cliches and terms and in a less degree expressivity which is evidenced in the use of elevated, bookish style or conversation vocabulary
