ON THE APPLICATION OF ASSOCIATIVE FIELD METHOD TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE INFORMATION STRUCTURE OF TEXT

The article is dedicated to the analysis of the information structure of the text through the prism of linguistic and cognitive phenomena. The content part of the message is considered as a plan of activation of certain conceptual fields whose elements due to the peculiarities of human cognitive activity are noted to be connected by associative links. In this article the information structure of a message is analyzed as a combination of associative fields of different ranks. Associative field method is applied as an effective way to analyze the structure and content level of text, which enables to trace some patterns in the construction of the information-related plan of text and reveal both linguistic and cognitive factors determining the character of information distribution within the speech utterance.
