Abstract
This study aims at investigating war messages in al-Qalqashandy’s book: Subh al-A`sha fi Sina`at alInsha. It is noted that the author is highly depended on various written documents and official letters including war messages, which contributed to spreading Islam and promoting Jihad among Muslims. The study showed that the messages addressed many war- related issues including the army’s movements, weapon’s, and battles’ descriptions. As for technical features, the messages depended on verses from the Holy Quran, poetry, proverbs and rhetorical devices.
