Abstract
The article argues that in Block’s afterward works we can observe, as it is still considered, not only mastering or development of Pushkin’s tradition in the 20th century, but also its radical rethinking and, finally, a split-up with it. Blok’s particular mysticism breaking with Orthodox tradition in the poem "The twelve" became the first page of Soviet literature. Gnosticism is expressed through instability of boundaries between light and darkness, demons and angels, Christ and antichrist. It highlights the concept of secondary sacralization, which revealed itself in Blok’s works through the ironic attitude to the Christian stability of the world and the affirmation of values found to be in complete contrast to the orthodox axiology.
