Abstract
Subject of the article is the global social problems that in the XXI century received a particularly strong value in social development and have come to define social policy in many countries of the world. The aim of the study is to find out what social problems dominate now in globalized world, how they influence may affect the economic development of Ukraine, and how they can be solved. The objective of the study is to find the answer to these questions. According to the logic of scientific research such methods of research are used in the article: theoretical analysis including review of individual traits and characteristics of new problems, formulating hypotheses, drawing analogies and evaluation of collected facts, mathematical and statistical methods. It is shown that any social transformation (in economics, finance, politics, production relations) always affect the lives and activities of people, entail social consequences. The dominant trend of social development at the end of the twentieth century is such global demographic problem as the aging of the population. It resulted in a number of other problems - declining living standards, increasing pressure on the working population, increasing demand for health and social services, and a significant rise in price of them. Many countries have undertaken reforms of pension systems and public health. Finding additional sources of funding for social problems is possible by improving the efficiency of tax collection, changing priorities in the allocation of budgetary resources, innovative financing, etc. It is stresses that Ukraine should immediately introduce a funded pension system and foster the development of private pension provision, as well as to reform the health care system.
