Abstract
This article is devoted to the research of semantics, origin and outspread of ancient Slavic architectural and domestic term of home in modern languages. The aim of the work is a search for inner form and nominative models of initial names of Slavic residence as material and spiritual cultural artifact, showing the historic ethnic cohesion. As a result, it was found out that the term of interest is of Indo-European origin, which proves the cultural commonness of Slavic, Balkan and West European civilizations.
