Abstract
The article deals with the study of the role, place and significant character of flower symbolism in daily life and oeuvre of Emily Dickinson, famous American poet of the 2nd half of the 19th century. The material studied, letters and poetry of Emily Dickinson allow concluding that flowers inspired her to creation of new poetic images, themes and ideas for the new pieces of poetry. This gives an opportunity to reconsider the oeuvre of this unusual poet
