Abstract
The article deals with the comparative analysis of Russian and Georgian proverbs with an animalistic component. The authors present the results of a comparative analysis of semantic and structural correlation of zoomorphic components in proverbs of the Russian and English languages. The study revealed similarities in the structure and the semantics of the data paremiological units, indicate the presence of common traits and manners of behavior and the Russians and Georgians, as well as images and concepts which are universal for both coun- tries. Differences also testify to the uniqueness and national characteristics of each of the cultures
