Abstract

Sometimes during liver surgery, it is necessary to use temporary obturation of portal vein aimed at hemostasia. In 1908, Irish surgeon J.H. Pringle suggested clamping hepatoduodenal ligament aimed at temporary hemostasia in liver during surgery. This method is widely used and nowadays it comprises obturation of hepatoduodenal ligament by means of vessels clamp or tourniquet. The influence of long-term blocking of phleboid blood flow of portal system on liver is presented widely in various sources. The influence of acute portal block on abdominal cavity organs is underinvestigated. Stomach plays a special part among abdominal cavity organs being on the way of phleboid blood flow. Moreover, there are the cases of concomitant injuries of liver and other abdominal cavity organs, stomach in particular [1-5].
