Abstract

This article presents the causes of sarcopenia at elderly people, which is syndrome, characterized by progressive and general decrease of musculoskeletal tissues, its myodynamia and functions. The source data on the influence of chondrotropic hormone on musculoskeletal tissue is considered as well as the results of a study carried out on the basis of D.F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The aim of the research is to study the dependence between musculoskeletal tissue indices and chondrotropic hormone level at elderly women. The state of fat-free tissue (musculoskeletal tissue) was evaluated by DEXA (Prodigy, GEHC Lunar, Madison, WI, USA). The chondrotropic hormone level in blood serum was determined by chemiluminescent immunoassay method using Immulite 2000 equipment by Siemens DPC (USA). As a result, accurate negative correlation relationship of chondrotropic hormone level and age was detected. Women with the low chondrotropic hormone level had lower indices of fat-free tissues of lower and upper limb, appendicular fat-free tissue.
