Abstract
Virtual Autopsy is a new-type noninvasive (or minimally invasive) “anatomy” technology and introduces modern imaging examination technology to the postmortem examination of forensic pathology. Virtual Autopsy has not only the advantages of accuracy and non-infringement, but also the utilitarian function of data storage,image transmission and remote consultation. Virtual Autopsy with the features of objectivity and non-infringement, makes forensic pathology be improved. Due to the great dependence on the progress of imaging technology and direct vision requirements of some anatomical links, there are still a large number of corpses information to be needed visually observe, so it can not completely replace the traditional autopsy at present. Through the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of Virtual Autopsy,this paper will systematically introduce the application of the Virtual Autopsy in forensic pathology. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of virtual anatomy are compared.
