Abstract
The article presents an attempt to define the notion of technical understanding. The efficiency of such pedagogic work as attracting pupils to contests and Olympiads on technologies is proved. The practice of Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University on the development and support of technical understanding in pupils is presented.
