Abstract
In this study a heuristic approach to recognition and classification of images of commercial minerals as components of rocks to exemplify the identification of continuous objects is developed. The methods of potentials and selection of representative preferred attributes in the object images are implemented. Efficient tools for data identification and processing are obtained.
