Abstract
The primary means of reducing toxic components in tobacco smoke are ventilated filter tips which are broadly used in the cigarette industry. In thi article the features of ventilated filter tips and the mechanisms of smoke filtration in ventilated filter tips are studied, besides the measured data on the content of nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide in the smoke of cigarettes with different ventilation rate of filter tip are presented.
